We, along with thousands of schools across California, participated in a field test of a modern assessment system designed to help shape teaching and learning in the classroom. If you would like to see what types of questions students were asked or see how the test is presented, attached is a link to the training/practice tests.

California Healthy Kids Survey
This March, fifth graders in the Lafayette School District will be asked to complete the California Healthy Kids Survey. The survey is voluntary and confidential.
According to Toni McShane, Stanley Assistant Vice Principal and administrator for the California Healthy Kids Survey, every two years, this California Healthy Kids Survey is given to all California 5th, 7th, 9th, and 11th graders. This Survey collects data which will provide reliable assessment and information about our youth in the Lafayette School District. It is a tool that helps schools and districts meet requirements for No Child Left Behind Act and Title IV Safe and Drug Free Schools. The data collection helps guide the development of more effective health, prevention and youth resilience programs. Additionally, the California Healthy Kids Survey is a vital component of the Lafayette School District’s Strategic Plan on Healthy Kids – Healthy Adults.
Below are links to the parent letter from Toni McShane, a copy of the permission slip and a copy of the survey.
