The Learning Center

Welcome to the Learning Center

The Learning Center provides specialized academic instruction for students in grades 1-5. The program is run by an Instructional Support Teacher and is supported by highly trained Special Services Assistants in order to deliver targeted instruction in a small group setting for students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). Academic instruction utilizes specialized curriculum and research based strategies in order to help students reach their academic goals in reading, writing and math. Students rotate through stations based on their academic needs and are reinforced through an embedded positive behavior support system. Students who come to the Learning Center will be able to receive targeted instruction at their level using a variety of multi sensory approaches in order to access the curriculum.

Keep Up the Good Work Over Break!

After all the amazing growth made so far this year, it's a good idea to revisit skills daily. I have provided some links to the left where my Learning Center students can keep up a little practice over the break.

RAZ Kids - This site requires a log in and will provide your child with an opportunity to keep reading at his or her level from any web browser. Progress will be saved on their account.

Lexia Reading This site requires a log in and password and provides leveled practice in phonics skills. It is a great resource and adapts to your child's progress.

Moby Max - There are lots of fun activities and links on this site. Your child can practice his or her math skills, brush up on grammar, or explore some new vocabulary words. If your child logs in, their progress will be saved.

Spelling City - There are lots of free resources and links on this site. Your child can log in and save progress on spelling tests, or they can just explore resources, like keyboarding practice or fun vocabulary games.
