Scholastic Book Orders

You can now order the perfect books for your child  -- Shop the new online Book Clubs web site.  It is so simple!  Here's how it works:

Sign up at On the parent page, click the "Register" button in the "First Time Here?" section.  Register for your own user name and password.  When prompted, enter the one-time Activation Code for our class:   PD8L7

Send your order to me online and your child's books will be delivered directly to my classroom. You can also send in your order and a check made out to Scholastic with your child.

I will submit the online orders as they come in!

Morning Meeting

In room 34, we start everyday off with a morning meeting. It gives the class a chance to start the morning off on a positive note. Each week a student will be "President". The president is in charge of running the morning meeting.

Our meetings consists of:

*Daily Gratitude- written at their desk and put in the gratitude jar

*Greeting- a way for every kid to be seen and heard every morning.

*Weekly quote- Students discuss what the quote what mean and share any connections they have to it

*Question- fun or academic and kids can raise their hand and share an answer

*Closing- game, gratitudes or mindful moment

It makes such a powerful impact on the class and creates a positive classroom community!

Welcome Back!

Well, the first day has come and gone and the excitement is still building! We have so much to look forward to.

Open communication is very important to me. I know we will have one of many valuable conversations about your child during our early conference time, however a little information ahead of time is much appreciated. I appreciate the time you take to fill out the profile sent home on the first day. If you need an extra copy please let me know. Please try and return it to me by Friday. You can also e-mail me your answers. My e-mail is on the attached questionnaire.

The district is again providing school supplies so

no supplies from home are necessary.

I am sure you will hear all about our newly made over classroom and flexible seating. The kids are so excited! We will be going over rules and expectations and you will all get a chance to check it out at back to school night!

I am looking forward to this year and hold high expectations for it. Together we can ensure a successful and memorable year! I look forward to seeing you at Back to School Night on Thursday, August 15th!

Welcome to Third Grade in Room 34!
