    Burton Valley Elementary Library ensures that students are effective users of ideas and information, empowering them with the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive in a quickly changing world as well as fostering a love of reading and learning.

    Circulation Policies

    Checkouts

    K-One Book For One Week

    First Grade-Two Books For One Week 

    Second-Fifth Grade-Four Books For Two Weeks

    Reserves

    Students may reserve a book that is currently checked out by filling out a green hold slip at the circulation desk. The student will receive the book when it becomes available.

    Overdue Books

    A overdue list is sent to teachers by email every Friday. Overdues are also sent to parents by email every Friday. No fines are charged for overdue books. However, students are encouraged to return late books promptly.

    Fines

    The Lafayette School District charges a replacement fee of $25.00 for a lost or damaged hardcover book and $10.00 for a lost or damaged paperback book. Parents can consult with the library specialist for other options.
